Surely they are lucky to be in the correctly sized two bed property with one child and another on the way. Why should I, through my council tax, have to fund their move up the property ladder as they have more children anyway ? Many others who have to rent or purchase on the open market plan their families according to their means. Divorce must be an unpleasant experience it does not justify both parties having larger council properties just so the children can visit occassionaly. Unfortunately they will have to make do like everybody else in this common situation. Is this the best story for the front front page news. .

Americans may be growing increasingly weary of their jobs, but it doesn't have to stay that way. A survey by the Conference Board found that only 50 percent of working Americans were satisfied with their jobs in 2005, compared with 60 percent in 1995. It cites stress, lack of personal achievement and time away from their families, among other factors, for Americans' dissatisfaction. Those ages 35 to 44 were the least happy with their jobs, and older workers, age 65 and older, were the most satisfied. While lower-income workers tended to be more dissatisfied, the downward trend was seen across all income groups. .

Of the top ten best-selling high-definition movies for the week, all were Blu-ray Disc. For the major new releases on each format, 3:10 To Yuma on Blu-ray Disc and The Kingdom on HD DVD, the former outsold the later by ten-fold. Although Warner will continue to release HD DVD product through May, the movie company has already put into action its separation plans. The Invasion (Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig) was originally slated for a January 29 release on both formats, but now the HD DVD version has been pushed back three weeks to February 19. The Blu-ray Disc version retains the original January 29 date. An even bigger delta will hit The Assassination of Jesse James (Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck), which will release on HD DVD on March 19, while the Blu-ray Disc will street on February 5.

Women at high risk for breast cancer should have an MRI scan along with their annual mammogram, according to new guidelines from the American Cancer Society. Guidelines from the American College of Physicians recommend women with a low risk for breast cancer talk to their doctor before starting to have mammogram screening at age 40. Tamoxifen and Raloxifene for Prevention Raloxifene (Evista) works as well as tamoxifen (Nolvadex) in reducing the risk of invasive breast cancer in women with BRCA gene mutations, indicates an important study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).Raloxifene may pose less risk for blood clots than tamoxifen, suggests the JAMA study. However, a New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) study notes that raloxifene still produces a small increase in the risk for blood clots and stroke.These drugs may not be safe for women with pre-existing heart problems.
Rivers bent on quick recovery
"I'm looking at it like in late July I'd be wishing I had these 2½ weeks back," the Chargers quarterback said yesterday, about 24 hours after undergoing surgery to replace the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. In the procedure performed by Chargers team physician David Chao, Rivers had the patella tendon in his right knee removed and then attached in place of his ACL. Rivers said he should be walking by the end of the week. His rehabilitation is expected to take six months, but he and others in the organization have expressed optimism it can be quicker. "That's the latter end of it," Rivers said. "I'm going to be ready for training camp. I'm not going to do anything miraculous. But I'm going to get after it, and I like to think I'm a fast healer." Because his wife is expecting their fourth child, Rivers had anticipated waiting until the second week of February to have surgery.
