And this little house that needs work just about everywhere I turn is giving me a chance to revel in its potential. Windows leak like sieves? Get new airtight double-panes! Think the fireplace mantle is just too wimpy? Chuck it! And what about that cheap, varnished-pine clamshell molding surrounding every door and window? I'm now buying Benjamin Moore Decorator's White by the contractor-size bucket to cover it all up. After years of having to consider architectural significance, I now have the chance to create my own, instead. It seems that, in this land of 300-year-old salt boxes, I have found new possibilities, and a home that belongs, not to history, but to me, alone. .

Bail them ALL out!
I personally would prefer bailouts, though, where the chief moron who approved the gargantuan loan gaffes does not get multimillion-buck golden parachutes they're escorted out the door. So, if we're cool with these bailouts for the fat cats from Fed rate cuts to secret side deals then let the small fry share in our self-centered refusal to let corporate titans go under. Rough treatment alleged
I support you OPD, our streets need to have some order and listening to thses people it will never happen Posted by: RaeLynn Location: North Omaha This is a serious problem that we have in our community. People do not trust our local authorities (some for good reasons). How are we supposed to call the police for help when they are going to take their time getting there and when they finally do get there they beat the victims? Then the OPD wonders why there are so many people who do not want to talk to the police or have anything to do with them. People dont want to call 911 and get treated like criminals. There is probably a reason that they are calling out for help but when the police gets there, they are beaten.. There is something wrong with that to me. Posted by: shanon Location: omaha I hope they get the charges droppped and then get the bill for all the damage.
It's a boy
Because the mother wants to be a friend versus a mother. Then they open centers for these girls to encourage them to have more on our dollar. Look at the PACE for yound girls in Immokalee. They are building an even bigger facility to house more girls. What they need to do is put them on birth control instead of bringing in another child i will have to raise with my tax dollar! .

The work appears in yesterday's online edition of the journal Science. Venter said the goal is to design novel microbes whose handcrafted genomes endow them with the ability produce useful chemicals, including renewable synthetic fuels that could substitute for oil. Critics, however, countered that without better oversight of the fledgling field, synthetic biology is more likely to lead to the creation of potent biological weapons and runaway microbes that could wreak environmental havoc. "Venter is claiming bragging rights to the world's longest length of synthetic DNA, but size isn't everything. The important question is not 'How long?' but 'How wise?' " said Jim Thomas of the ETC Group, a Montreal-based group that has called for a moratorium on the release and commercialization of synthetic organisms pending further public debate.
