| Good Jobs Are Where the Money Is
The peak income year for the bottom 90 percent of Americans was way back in 1973 - when the average income per taxpayer (adjusted for inflation) was $33,001. That is nearly $4,000 higher than the average in 2005. It's incredible but true: 90 percent of the population missed out on the income gains during that long period. Mr. Johnston does not mince words: "The pattern here is clear. The rich are getting fabulously richer, the vast majority are somewhat worse off, and the bottom half - for all practical purposes, the poor - are being savaged by our current economic policies." His words are echoed in a proposed stimulus plan currently offered by the Economic Policy Institute in Washington. (The plan is available on its Web site, epi.org.) Stressing that any stimulus package should be "fair," the authors of the institute's proposal wrote: "The distribution of wages, income and wealth in the United States has become vastly more unequal over the last 30 years.
Himachal Pradesh
On the other hand the Chief Minister is also keen that his supporters are adjusted, especially Ravinder Singh Ravi from Kangra and Dr Rajiv Bindal from Solan district. Though state BJP chief Jai Ram Thakur is not strictly considered in either the Shanta or Dhumal camp he could also get inducted, with the party making a comeback under his presidentship. With the BJP making a clean sweep in Kullu and Solan, at least one minister each would have to be inducted from here. Representation will also have to be given to at least one of the four women MLAs who have won on the BJP ticket this time along with a tribal getting representation in the ministry. .
Alberta green plan puts PM 'on the spot'
Canada stands to have the best economy in the world hands down due to in large part Alberta for the next hundred years if we can get it right. Believe me, no green tech is going to be as positive to our federal budget as Oil coming from Alberta and soon Sask. So you want it to be clean? Find a way to make it clean and sell it to us. Also look for it to come on the west coast and in the arctic. Its coming because liberal or conservative they both like having balanced budgets. He might call and say, "What about this?" He makes suggestions: "I'd like this, I'd like that." I'm free to say I think that's a bad idea. But he is my boss so I have to defend it. Police updating radios
This will be similar to the encryption capabilities the sheriff's office has with its radio system. This will allow officers to coordinate operations without having to rely on cellular phones, which are currently used, or worry about people listening in at times when secrecy is needed, Rockvam said."By (the system's) nature it's difficult to scan," he added. "It will be impossible to scan with encryption."There were concerns that the CPD would operate in encryption mode full time, which would be a negative for the public, Conners said."There are times when people listing to their scanner can be a help," he added.Rockvam said the encryption mode will only be used in situations when necessary, such as sting operations and to protect the identity of a victim. .

But the Advertiser understands the car giant is confident it will it its target date for the landmark. A usual working day sees the line start at 6am and go through to almost midnight with stops only for meals and a shift change. This year Honda will build no fewer than 150,000 Civics and 100,000 CR-Vs. 3:06pm Friday 25th January 2008 .
Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference
ATLANTA (AP) -Nicklas Lidstrom's 10th All-Star appearance brought out a smile that belied what has become routine for the topflight Detroit defenseman. Joe Thornton is back for his fifth, and seemed miffed that anyone would pass up the chance to show off their talent in the ultimate hockey exhibition. Sidney Crosby and Lidstrom's Red Wings teammate Henrik Zetterberg were in line to start Sunday night in the NHL All-Star game, but injuries made that impossible. The elected goalies: New Jersey's Martin Brodeur for the Eastern Conference, and Vancouver's Roberto Luongo out West turned down invitations due to family commitments. A four-day break in the hectic 82-game schedule is a luxury that comes about just once a season, and the chance to spend it away from the rink is sometimes too much to give up.
Book Review: Cockburn's and St. Clair's End Times
Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St. Clair are both veteran journalists and authors doing the kind of muckraking political and other investigative writing only found in the US online and in out-of-the-mainstream publications and political newsletters like the one they co-publish and edit - CounterPunch with its counterpart web site of the same name. Cockburn is also a regular columnist with The Nation magazine, and his writings appear regularly in the New York Free Press and Los Angeles Times. He formerly wrote extensively for numerous other publications as well including the Wall Street Journal's far right editorial page oddly in the 1980s when its late editor Bob Bartley decided to have an alternate point of view and certainly got an exceptional one the mirror opposite of the array of extremist hard right contributors he allowed regular space to all the time as does his successor today. Cockburn's also authored, co-authored and co-edited 18 books, the latest one being "End Times - The Death of the Fourth Estate," along with co-author St.
