| 2 dead, suspect at large after shooting at missionary training campus
We had assistance from Wheat Ridge Police Department as well as Jefferson County Sheriff's Office," said Medina. "Unfortunately, he remains at large at this moment." The suspect is described as a white male, about 20 years old, who was wearing a dark coat. He may have been wearing a dark beanie or skull cap, may have had a beard and may have been wearing glasses. "The young man – I don't know who he is; I don't think [the victims] knew him – but he must be going through a lot personally in his own life to do something like this," said Warren. Police say they do not know whether the shooting was random or if there was a motive. Warren says YWAM has open worship times when the public is allowed on their campus. "Our belief is that only God is the judge and our place is to forgive and that's a difficult thing to do, but really, I think it's the right thing to do," said Warren.
ORU weekly e-mails checked
For more: Read the latest ORU stories, view the lawsuit and other documents and watch slide shows and video. The 2004-06 postings are purportedly to Richard Roberts from his political adviser and sister-in-law. ORU President Richard Roberts is urged to use the ''voters and influence'' he controls to reap favors for Oral Roberts University in two years of weekly e-mails purportedly sent to him by his political adviser and sister-in-law, Stephanie Cantees. ''You intend to make ORU a political powerhouse where candidates will recognize that they will be expected to be asked questions and if elected when they come back for re-election they had better have some thing to show for the votes the students gave them,'' states one e-mail from ''Stef'' to Roberts' ORU e-mail address on Dec.
Fight Over TV Debates Outlasts Kucinich
NBC News took its fight to sideline Kucinich to the Nevada Supreme Court, after a lower court ordered the candidate be included in the Jan. 15 debate there. NBC said the order was a "brazen violation of a news organization's First Amendment rights," and the higher court overturned it hours before airtime. Getting blocked from the Nevada debate influenced his decision to withdraw from the race. "I understood that when I was locked out of that Las Vegas debate — we fought hard to get into it — I knew then that it was going to be really tough to be able to continue, because if people can't see you, how are they going to be able to understand that you're running (and) what you stand for?" he said. Kucinich got nowhere with FCC complaints filed before ABC's Jan.
AfterHours Medical Care Sees Record Number of Patients in 2007
ROCHESTER, NY — Lifetime Health Medical Group's AfterHours Medical Care saw a record number of patients in 2007. A total of 30,602 patients were treated in the Rochester area last year. This is an 8.3 percent increase over the number of patients seen in 2006 (equal to a month's worth of patients) and 5.7 percent more patients than AfterHours' prior best year ever (2005). The pace continues so far this month. AfterHours provides urgent care after traditional office hours—offering an alternative to waiting in overcrowded hospital emergency rooms. Since the service began in 1998, more than a quarter of a million patients have been seen in the Rochester and Buffalo regions. According to Richard A. Dudrak, II M.D., medical director of AfterHours Medical Care for Lifetime Health Medical Group for the Rochester region, the increase in patients seen by AfterHours stems in part from the service's appointment-based structure.

The same hold true for science. There are true scientific facts and there are errors. Of course there are scientific theories but the only one from that area which seems to cause trouble is evolution versus intelligent design. Curriculum decisions in English are more difficult. While people can generally agree on what is good and great literature as opposed to junk, there will be some debate on coverage, writing and grammar. New editions are generally developed without much conflict or fanfare. There seems to be a consensus. One of the most intriguing questions in the Bible came from the lips of Pontius Pilate when Roman authorities were shuffling Jesus around prior to executing him. Someone asked Pilate if the things Jesus said were true. Pilate replied, in his best Clintonesque style, "What is truth? The big trouble spot in curriculum development is history because it goes after Pontius Pilate’s question most directly.
Rangers in same position as this time last year with 54 points
And there were overblown rumors of a rift within the dressing room and questions about Renney's ability to pull it all together. Sound familiar? Of course, it took one of the most effective trades in Rangers history - the Feb. 5 acquisition of Sean Avery - to get the 2006-07 team home. And it is unreasonable to believe Glen Sather can pull off another such catalyzer. But then, it also took some pretty impressive stretch runs by several other teams to make it so hard for the Rangers to make the playoffs. And they had to make their run largely without a key player - Brendan Shanahan was lost for 15 games and diminished for the rest in a horrifying collision Feb. 17. .
Lack of funds nearly crippled FDA, report finds
Those are a few symptoms of the poor condition in which the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finds itself after decades of inadequate funding and growing responsibilities, according to a new report by a special FDA committee that was assigned to assess the agency's scientific and technological capabilities. The bottom line is that "American lives are at risk," says the 60-page report, titled "FDA Science and Mission at Risk: Report of the Subcommittee on Science and Technology." The report says the agency is losing its ability to keep up with scientific advances, its regular staff has stayed about the same size for 20 years, and its information technology (IT) systems are obsolete and unreliable. "We found that FDA's resource shortfalls have resulted in a plethora of inadequacies that threaten our society - including, but not limited to, inadequate inspections of manufacturers, a dearth of scientists who understand emerging new technologies, inability to speed the development of new therapies, an import system that is badly broken, a food supply that grows riskier each year, and an information infrastructure that was identified as a source of risk in every Center and program reviewed by the Subcommittee," the report states.
TIKI REACHES OUT TO CONGRATULATE EX-'MATE STRAHAN
Monday, they will fly to Phoenix for Super Bowl XLII. Strahan and Barber were teammates for Barber's entire 10-year career, making this trip a bit different. Barber has said numerous times he has no regrets about leaving when he did. "I respect the fact Tiki decided he was done, he didn't want to play any more," Strahan said. "You don't know how many times I said if I quit and we went to the Super Bowl and won, I'm coming back here and hold somebody hostage until I get a ring. I understand Tiki made his decision and I know he has no regrets. . . . If he says it doesn't bother him I'll take his word for it that it doesn't. But if I were at home it would bother the heck out of me. I'm telling you." * There's more than pride at stake in the Super Bowl. The winner's share is $78,000, the loser's share is $40,000.
